Service Support Business Advisor

  • Belfast £14.28 - £15.28 per hour Type of Job: Temporary

Staffline is recruiting for temporary Service Support Business Advisors for the Northern Ireland Fire Service within the Fleet of Engineering and Supplies. These roles are a 6-month contract Grade S01, reporting to the Business Support Unit Manager. You must be a qualified Accounting Technician to apply.

 Your time at work

As a Service Support Business Advisors you will provide expert advice and guidance throughout the Service Support Directorate on the development of business cases, including managing their preparation, review and subsequent post project evaluations in line with best practice and department timescales.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Business Cases
  • Liaising with all Service Support Centre Managers
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on all post-project evaluations (PPEs) in line with financial regulations, policies and procedures
  • To provide full costing information and discounted cash flow / net present value calculations and affordability analysis for inclusion in option appraisals
  • Ensure conformity and uniformity of approach, including the use of templates
  • Establish and maintain a database of all business cases and PPEs submitted
  • Delivering training
  • Providing a high level of internal and external customer service
  • Undertaking any other duties which may be assigned to meet organisational need and the change agenda, and which are reasonably regarded as within the nature of the role

 Our perfect worker

Our perfect Service Support Business Advisors will be a qualified accounting technician, having completed one of the following professional examinations or hold an equivalent qualification:

  • Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Professional Diploma in Accounting
  • Association of Chartered Certified Association (ACCA) Certified Accounting Technician qualification (CAT)
  • Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) Diploma for Accounting Technicians

You will have at least 2 years relevant experience within a large complex organisation of the following:

  • Development of business cases
  • Development of post project evaluations

You will be able to demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills, deliver high quality work with attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills, the ability to advise and influence management and ability to work under pressure and meeting multiple deadlines is a must.

You will be competent in the use of Windows and other Microsoft applications.

A full, current driving licence or access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full is also essential.
