Staffline is recruiting for a Delivery Service Clerk, working for one of our most prestigious client's based in Hinckley

The rates of pay are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday - £9.00 per hour
  • Weekend and Bank Holidays - £11.70 per hour

This is a temporary role and you will be required to work from 6AM to 2PM any 5 days out of 7. Flexibility to work weekends is essential.

Your Time at Work

The candidate will be working in a dynamic transport environment situated in a transport office, coordinating the administration activities that will accompany the movements of products across the United Kingdom. Providing support on quality process’s, system data aspects and general data entry. The individual will ensure part of the Store Delivery Service clerical team who provide administration and clerical support to Drivers, Shunters and the Management Team so we can serve our stores and operate safely.

This will include proactive vehicle monitoring, communicating with the terminals and contractors, discussing and improving errors – reporting back findings to management for review.

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:

  • Plan, organise and control activities related to transportation
  • Following Business Code of Conduct and Data Protection Law, always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Completing a full handover and sharing all relevant information
  • Answering Telephones via Distribution Direct to answer any store queries and input them onto the online log
  • Completing on time all reports and sending to the relevant people
  • Giving Drivers at the start of their journey their pre-brief
  • Investigating any route or time discrepancies on de-brief
  • Inputting authorised exceptions onto Work Force Central
  • Direct workers for loading and unloading of consignments, goods and means of transport
  • Respect the law on road traffic public, domestic and international traffic of goods
  • Coordinate team that prepares all documents and obtain all documents necessary for legal circulation on public roads
  • Obtain licenses for transport and execution of motor vehicle
  • Follow due dates for renewal of licenses, permits, etc. and reports to supervisors/managers to initiate appropriate action

The ideal candidate will have the following skill base:

  • Computer literate and competent with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, good keyboard skills
  • Communication, forward planning and negotiation skills
  • Ability to maintain records of vehicle operations
  • Good attention to detail
  • Understanding of the Transport operation in a Distribution Centre
  • Organising skills.
