Transport Clerk

  • Swindon £10.00 per hour Type of Job: Temporary

Staffline is recruiting for a Transport Clerk, working in the transport office for one of our most prestigious client's based in Swindon.

The rate of pay is £10.00 per hour

You will be required to work between 6AM and 2Pm or 2PM and 10PM.

Your Time at Work

The role will involve providing support the safe, legal and efficient operations of transport. The candidate will be working in a dynamic transport environment situated in a transport office, coordinating the administration activities that will accompany the movements of products across the United Kingdom. You will be supporting the Duty FLM and Transport Manager in ensuring all transport admin and systems are up to date. Providing support on quality process's, system data aspects and general data entry. The right candidates will have the potential for career progression.

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:

  • Plan, organise and control activities related to transportation
  • Administering the defect process
  • Liaising with and updating the Customer
  • Collating data through the night for the shift handover
  • Covering the middle desk function - Aiding the Allocation desk
  • Liaising with other department within the Warehouse to ensure smooth processes
  • Dealing effectively with Drivers throughout their shift
  • Any ad-hoc tasks required by the transport team
  • Follow due dates for renewal of licenses, permits, etc. and reports to supervisors/managers to initiate appropriate action
  • Find optimal solutions for transport and communicate solutions to the clients
  • Assisting in the compilation of weekly transport statistics
  • Handle day to day queries from internal departments

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications

A previous experience of working in a Transport office is essential, although the full training will be provided.
