Inventory Controller

  • Kettering £19,000.00 per annum Type of Job: Permanent

Our prestigious client in Kettering is looking for an Inventory Clerk to start as soon as possible. The inventory controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels across all areas in the warehouse and 3rd party sites as well as being responsible for re-sale of aged/ excess inventory.


  • Optimising stock levels throughout the warehouse to ensure inventory is always correctly located
  • Responsible for stock stored in 3rd party stock locations ensuring regular checks are undertaken
  • Responsible for ensuring all rolling stock takes are undertaken on regular basis
  • Liaising with sales teams and relevant managers to have full understanding of aged stock and obtain shipping date
  • Grading aged stock and ensuring it is advertised on resale websites ensuring best financial return
  • Maintain the correct use of space to maximise efficiency
  • Writing-off of aged stock as agreed with management
  • To ensure all equipment/ product is located and relocated correctly and that stores are kept clean and tidy, ensuring Exits and fork trucks roadways are clear
  • To ensure all equipment/ product is properly stored to prevent damage and in accordance with Insurance requirements
  • Fully investigate goods received with queried and requiring escalation are done in the correct manner
  • Provide assistance when required to all areas of the warehouse
  • Deal with any reasonable requests from other departments
  • Highlight any need for retraining in yourself or other using the correct channels
  • To ensure the cleanliness and security of the entire work environment
  • Ensure Health and Safety and Fire regulations are always adhered to with particular emphasis on manual handling and MHE requirements
  • To carry out any other duties which may be reasonably requested from senior management

Skills and experience:

  • a knowledge of and interest in IT Supplies and Solutions
  • Holder of a full UK driving license
  • Eligible to drive company vehicle (25 years old+)
  • Experience in selling equipment via online selling platforms (desirable)
  • Good numeracy and IT skills, particularly spread sheets and databases
  • Strong verbal and excellent written communication skills
  • Literate and numerate to a good standard
  • Effective personal organisation and planning

  • IT literate in relevant packages for role including in-house packages
  • Logical and analytical approach
