Location: Bridgwater
Hours: 40 hours per week, working normal office hours but will require flexibility and possible shift rotation as the project grows
Salary: £55,000 per annum
The Delivery Management Lead reports directly to the NNB Freight Delivery Lead and is responsible for the direction and leadership of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the programme of work assigned to them.
This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all the required site support services for the life cycle of the construction project. The size and scope of the support services will be aligned in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.
The nature of the role is to provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of freight to HPC, while recognising and managing the impacts on the wider Project. The Delivery Management Lead will be responsible for managing the DMS team and Plaza Operations whilst ensuring that the infrastructure is fit for purpose and in a safe condition. Where required the Delivery Management Lead will be responsible for the development, amendment and implementation of work procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and management to the DMS team and Plaza Operations to enable effective throughput of traffic and people through the Main Entry Point and Freight Centres including:
DMS and Security checks
Control of incoming and outgoing traffic flows
Traffic Management
Health and Safety
Environmental
- To line manage the DMS coordinator team to support the EDF Energy traffic management objectives
- To manage as one robust operation centre with the involvement of other stakeholders such as Bussing, Security and Training etc.
- Provide training to all DMS users, including DMS Operators and Tier 1 Delivery Coordinators, creating and distributing accounts following successful completion of training
- Implement, monitor and control standards at the freight management facility, initiating collaboration with all stakeholders to include Safety, Environmental and Operating standards
- Undertake a Duty Management role in the event of a road incident that requires HPC to enact its emergency procedure
- Ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place in the event of a system or internet outage
- Disseminate relevant project updates, briefings and traffic information to the DMS team
- Maintain accurate information in the system for DMS evaluation
- To achieve all conditions set out by SCC and the TRG.
- Provide an escalation route to the DMS operators and coordinators to manage relationships with haulier drivers, DMS users, particularly construction contractors - Handling any issues and queries and collecting feedback from all parties
- Supervise and support driver induction training to HGV delivery drivers
- Supervise and support the movement of Abnormal Indivisible Loads to HPC
- Understanding of the caps on HGV movement set out in planning conditions, ensuring the parameters are adhered to by the delivery management system (and subsequently contractor deliveries)
- Develop and maintain lines of communication with contractor Delivery Coordinators to ensure clear communication
- Deliver the DMS Daily Coordination Meeting to support communication and coordination of deliveries to site
- Report and raise any problems with the performance of the delivery management system
- Produce a monthly report of the previous month's KPI performance
- Provide knowledge of the DMS on an Ad Hoc basis, acting as the DMS subject matter expert.
- Support DMS Operators as required to receive vehicles within the HGV holding area and release within the capping slots. Undertake checks against the DMS including date and time of arrival, vehicle details, load and driver information etc.
- Resolve any day to day DMS coordinator administration issues that may arise
- Report and manage construction contractor compliance with the DMS process
- Proactively manage DMS to prevent breaches to DCO conditions
Key Skills & Competencies:
- A logistics background is required
- Previous experience of line management and supervision
- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment to satisfy a range of complex project requirements is essential
- They will have exceptional people skills and the ability to present ideas
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required
- The Delivery Management Lead will enjoy working in a challenging environment, will be able to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, will be able to remain calm and professional under pressure and will enjoy finding solutions to complex and time critical situations
- Experience of successfully engaging management and groups of stakeholders
- Able to demonstrate strong management skills including supervision, line management and providing disciplinary feedback to team members and drivers
- A good standard of education in Maths, English and IT

Specific Occupational Requirements:
- Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting
- UK Driving License is essential
- Able to produce a five year verifiable work history
