Staffline is recruiting Shift Coordinators in Carlton, Barnsley.
The rate of pay is:
- Rotating Days £14.84 per hour
- Nights £17.51 per hour
Overtime is available and is paid at:
- Rotating £22.73 per hour
- Nights £22.73 per hour
This is a full-time role working either rotating shifts or a fixed night shift. The hours of work are:
Rotating, Monday to Friday:
- 6am to 2pm
- 2pm to 10pm
Sunday to Thursday Nights:
- Monday to Thursday 10pm to 6am
- Sunday 11pm to 6am
Your Time at Work
As a Shift Coordinator you will be responsible for:
Safety Support:
- Acting as a visible role model for safe behaviours at all times on the shop floor
- Strictly adhering to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures, site rules, and risk assessments
- Proactively challenge unsafe acts or unsafe conditions and escalate concerns immediately in line with site procedures
- Ensuring correct and consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and equipment
- Following approved safe systems of work at all times
- Supporting site safety initiatives, including toolbox talks, safety moments, audits, and incident prevention activities
- Stop work immediately if conditions are unsafe and follow the appropriate escalation and reporting protocols
Operational Support:
- Carrying out operational tasks in line with required quality, safety, and productivity standards
- Providing flexible support to teams during peak periods, absences, and short-notice cover requirements
- Maintaining clean, organised, and safe working areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards
- Accurately and consistently follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Demonstrating flexibility by undertaking a variety of tasks and deployments across the site as required
New Starter Orientation (30 Minutes of Shift):
- Meeting and greeting new starters and escorting them to the line
- Ensuring they have the correct PPE and that it is worn correctly
- Introducing them to their assigned trainer
- Pointing out immediate hazards using the approved script

Applicants will communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors regarding risks, issues, or delays.
You will support new or less experienced operatives by reinforcing safe and correct ways of working.
Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.
