Great opportunity to work as a Skilled Operator for our client's site, one of the leading producers of well-known products across the UK.
Staffline is recruiting Skilled Operators in Carlton, Barnsley.
The rate of pay is:
- Rotating Grade 2: £14.11 per hour
- Rotating Grade 3: £14.43 per hour
- Nights Grade 2: £16.65 per hour
- Nights Grade 3: £17.03 per hour
Pay rates start from the grade 2 pay rate and could potentially go up to the grade 3 pay rate.
Overtime is available and is paid at:
- Grade 2 Operators - Days or nights are £21.61 per hour
- Grade 3 Operators £22.10 per hour
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday on either rotating shifts or night shifts. The hours of work are:
- Rotating Days: Monday to Friday AM: (Monday to Thursday 6am-2pm and Friday 6am to 1pm)
- Rotating Afters: Monday to Friday PM: (Monday to Thursday 2pm-10pm and Friday 1pm to 8pm)
- Nights: Sunday to Thursday: (Sunday 11pm-6am and Monday to Thursday 10pm to 6am)
Your Time at Work
Our client's production lines are fast-paced and high-pressure. Our planning schedule means that the lines will stop and change to other products, therefore requiring equipment to be changed over in between production runs.
Key responsibilities:
- Checking and weighing raw ingredients
- Ensuring that machine settings are correct.
- Running quality checks on the size and weight of the depositing ingredient
- Simple machine maintenance
- Maintaining a clean and safe production environment
- In-depth cleaning, including taking machinery apart and using chemicals.
- Ensure own personal hygiene meets the requirements of a food factory!
- Complete CCP checks thoroughly - training will be given.
- Completing paperwork accurately
Our Perfect Worker
We are looking for a Skilled Bakery Operative who is hard-working, willing to learn, and keen to progress. The role would suit an individual with the ability to perform their duties in a physically demanding, fast-paced and agile environment.
What we need from you:
Essential
- Be enthusiastic and conscientious
- Understand or be willing to learn the principles and application of Food Safety
- Have a proactive approach to Food Safety
- Be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment and working in a factory environment with cleaning chemicals.
- Have the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
- Demonstrate the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Good level of maths and English
- Decision-making skills
- Attention to detail and ability to concentrate
- Able to follow instructions and production schedules
- Able to act quickly and safely when a problem arises.
Desirable
- Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
- Previous experience in cleaning food manufacturing equipment
