Late Shift Warehouse Operative - Immediate Start

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client as a Late Shift Warehouse Operative, supporting dispatch operations and wider warehouse functions at their busy site in Chatteris.

This is a temp-to-perm position, offering long-term stability for the right candidate.

Due to the location of the site, candidates must have access to their own vehicle or reliable transport.

The rate of pay is £14.27 per hour up to 48 hours, with overtime paid at £17.84 per hour for all hours worked over 48.

Bank Holiday pay is £14.77 per hour.

This role works Sunday to Saturday, 5 days per week, starting between 14:00 and 15:00. Finish times vary between 22:00 and 00:00, and you must be prepared to work until the job is completed.

Your Time at Work

As a Late Shift Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the dispatch operation. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Running dispatch operations efficiently, checking order picking and coordinating with haulage companies
- Liaising with day shift management and supporting communication between teams
- Covering the Warehouse Late Shift Supervisor when required
- Training warehouse staff as directed by the senior team
- Supporting picking accuracy and efficiency across the site
- Operating all warehouse machinery, including Electric Counterbalance FLT and Electric Pedestrian Barrow
- Ensuring all communication (email, verbal, written) is professional, timely, and constructive
- Working closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Technical teams to ensure all Work Instructions are followed
- Maintaining warehouse standards in line with cleaning and operational requirements
- Completing all paperwork accurately, ensuring full traceability and legal compliance (e.g., FLT and Barrow pre shift checks)
- Duty managing the warehouse in the absence of the Late Shift Supervisor
- Checking pallets prior to dispatch
- Loading and unloading lorries safely and efficiently
- Picking and preparing products for dispatch
- Unstacking and handling boxes as required
- Supporting general warehouse operations, maintaining a clean and organised environment, and being capable of locking up the building

- Have experience in a similar warehouse or dispatch role (produce industry experience desirable)
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- Have strong written and verbal English skills
- Be confident using a computer and completing paperwork accurately

- Show leadership qualities and the ability to maintain professionalism at all times
- Be proactive, solutions focused, and motivated
- Have strong organisational and time management skills
- Be able to lock up the building when required
- Have good IT skills, including Word and Excel
- Ideally hold a Counterbalance FLT and/or Electric Pedestrian Barrow licence (training can be provided if needed)
