Staffline are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to work for our client at their pristine automotive manufacturing plant, based in Westhampnett, West Sussex.

The rate of pay is £21.88 to £25.72 per hour (subject to training completion/performance).

Up to 40 hours per week (currently 38 hours per week, dependant on production requirements):
- 07:00 to 15:30
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend working may be required

You will be required to complete an interview prior to starting this role.

Your Time at Work
- Supporting your department and Production with meeting attendance and status reports, ensuring the multi-project landscape is supported and represented by the Quality department.
- Provide quality related documents to Production to support defect capturing and corrective actions, such as rework methods and deviations.
- Supporting the department by preparing necessary Advanced Product Quality Planning documentation e.g. FMEA, Inspection Instruction, Control Plans across the multi-project landscape.
- Influence the product and process development with cross-functional teams across the business.
- Identifying/containing issues; leading problem-solving activities, defining, validating solutions and communicating with internal stakeholders about potential causes or corrective actions.
- Input & feedback to aid the improvement of development & manufacturing processes.
- Feedback to engineering teams to ensure upcoming products have lessons learned applied.
- Communicate test plans or inspection methods to ensure accurate data collection.
- Communicating with stakeholders to influence product design and applying lessons learned.
- Using technical knowledge and understanding of defects and Customer relevance, including defect capturing methods.

Our Perfect Worker
- The successful candidate will be qualified to HNC/D in Mechanical, Manufacturing or quality Engineering or equivalent work experience; and be experienced in manufacturing operations.
- Specialist in using measurement tools (DTI, inspection gauges), quality management, and problem-solving tools (e.g. DMAIC, 5-why, Fishbone analysis); data collection/analysis/visualisation.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing principles and working knowledge of 7 basic tools of quality
- Comprehensive IT skills, including but not limited to Office, SharePoint, preparing presentation slides aiding reports.
- Good organisation and planning skills as well as ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; flexibility to work extended hours when the business need arises.
- A strong team player who is self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy and conscientious. Willing and able to develop new initiatives and ideas and make the right decisions without supervision.
- Confident with engaging and negotiating with internal stakeholders.
- Project Quality Management, including reporting, would be beneficial.
- Fluent English is essential; German would be advantageous.
