Security Specialist
Posted on June 26th, 2026
Join a mission-critical team. As a Security Specialist for G4S, you aren't just guarding a gate; you are protecting a high-stakes site. This is a career defined by stability, specialised training, and professional purpose.
We are looking for a rare type of individual for a role where previous experience is not essential as we'll support the right candidate with training. Someone who cares about security. Has excellent attention to detail, appreciates that risk exists and is vigilant enough to spot it and take relevant actions, quickly and professionally, to deal with it.
Location: Dungeness, TN29 9PP
Position: Casual Security Officer
Salary: £15.22 per hour
Shifts: Guaranteed 19hrs a week, Optional Overtime Available.
Why Join Our Team?
- Industry-Leading Stability: This role offers job security that traditional commercial security cannot match.
- Structured Work-Life Balance: Guaranteed two days a week, 9.5hrs, 07:00-17:00. This allows you to plan your personal life months in advance.
(Optional overtime is available, which could be a mixture of days, nights, and weekends).
- Full Professional Development: We provide and fund specialised site-specific inductions and apprenticeships for those who wish to develop themselves further within the industry.
The Role
- Communicating confidently at all levels in both written and spoken English.
- Following specific procedures and instructions accurately.
- Experience in utilising IT and computer systems efficiently.
- Undertaking shift work flexibly as required.
- Conducting high-vigilance internal and external patrols to ensure the integrity of the site.
- Managing complex access control for staff, contractors, and visitors in line with strict regulatory standards.
- Responding to incidents with precision and teamwork following elite standards.
- Serving as a professional ambassador for both G4S and our client, always delivering service excellence
- No two days are the same on site-you might be handling a medical emergency one day and demonstrating a contingency exercise to a regulator the next.
- Finally, you must be continuously focused on providing excellent service to our customers by being efficient, flexible and security conscious at all times
What We Are Looking For
- Licensing Requirements: You must hold a valid SIA licence (either a Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence). SIA training can be provided to suitable candidates.
- Work History & References: You must be able to prove a 5-year checkable work history and provide character references.
- Integrity: Successful candidates must pass rigorous National Security Vetting (BPSS/SC).
- Reliability: You must have your own transport and commitment to the commute.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills are essential for reporting and client interaction.
- Ambition: A desire to self-develop within a specialised security sector.
Our Commitment to You
We know the vetting process for a high-security site is thorough. That's why we've implemented a "Fast-Track" Tranche 1 Onboarding system. You'll be invited to complete your mandatory induction and provide bank details immediately after your interview, ensuring you are "site-ready" as soon as your clearance is confirmed.
Rewards Worth Your Commitment
We believe in rewarding the commitment of our security professionals. In addition to a competitive hourly rate and specialised training, you will receive:
- Annual Leave: Generous paid time off to ensure you remain refreshed.
- Sick Pay: Financial security when you are unable to work.
- Company Pension: A structured plan to help you save for the future.
- Health & Wellbeing Programme: We Care - providing 24/7 access to online GP, mental health support and virtual wellbeing.
- Employee Discount: Access to a wide range of retail and leisure savings.
- On-Site Parking: Free, secure parking at our sites.
