HGV Class 2 Driver (Store Deliveries)
Location: Plymouth
Shifts Available:
Monday to Friday OR
Tuesday to Saturday
Pay Rates:
£16.89 per hour
Overtime (after 48 hours): £19.42 per hour
Saturday & Sunday: £19.42 per hour
Bank Holidays: £33.78 per hour
8 hours guaranteed per shift
Your Time at Work
We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a leading logistics operation based in Plymouth. This role involves multi-drop store deliveries across Devon, Somerset and Dorset, delivering chilled, frozen and ambient goods.
Duties Include:
Multi-drop store deliveries using cages
Delivering chilled, frozen and ambient products
Routes covering Devon, Somerset and Dorset
Completing between 4 and 9 drops per day
Conducting vehicle checks and completing paperwork
Maintaining excellent customer service at delivery locations
Shift Information:
Start times between 04:45 and 06:00
Average shift length of 10-12 hours
Unpaid 45-minute break on shifts over 8 hours
Training & Induction
Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 3-week induction programme:
Week 1
Driving assessment
Classroom-based training
Completion of paperwork and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
Weeks 2 & 3
Buddying alongside an experienced core driver
Learning routes, procedures and customer requirements
Our Perfect Worker
Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
Minimum 3 months' commercial driving experience
Previous store delivery experience preferred
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
No more than 6 penalty points
No major endorsements, including:
DD (Drink Driving)
CD (Careless Driving)
Driving without due care and attention
Other serious motoring offences
