Training and Quality Manager (TQM)

G4S are seeking a highly dedicated and qualified Training and Quality Manager (TQM) to join our team on-site at Coventry University.
Employed by G4S and fully dedicated to the University contract, the TQM will ensure the highest professional standards of Protection are developed and maintained. The ongoing development and support of Protection personnel is vital to the success of our outsourced provision.
Because of the 24/7 nature of our operations, the TQM must possess the flexibility to shift working
patterns-including nights and weekends-to deliver training across all operational shifts. Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided for out-of-hours delivery.
Contract Information:
Pay Rate: £47,175.00 per annum
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 08:00am - 18:00pm, Flexibility Required: Weekend and Night shift working (with Time Off In Lieu)
Your Time at Work
As a Training and Quality Manager you will be responsible for:
- Training Delivery & Coordination: Develop and implement comprehensive training packages to ensure all staff training needs are continuously met throughout the year. Coordinate the protection team's involvement with University-led training and development opportunities, including away-days.
- Onboarding & Induction: Provide and manage a full, robust induction schedule for all new and existing staff.
- Performance Management: Identify instances of individual poor performance and establish targeted, supportive rectification programs.
- Service Quality & Auditing: Conduct regular audits of service performance. Create, manage, and monitor formal procedural documents for all contract activities.
- Incident & Data Management: Collate, review, and initiate investigations of incident report data.
- Ensure the onward distribution of vetted reports to the appropriate University senior management team.
- Technology & App Management: Champion the University SafeZone app, managing and analyzing its data effectively.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to, and management of, Coventry University Procedural documents. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date training records matrix.
- Special Initiatives: Deliver Crime Prevention and Fire Awareness initiatives at student orientation events (Fresher's Week) and throughout the academic year. Manage an up-to-date, bespoke e learning video library tailored to the duties of Officers at Coventry University.
- Leadership Support: Support the SAM, CSM, and Protection Services Manager in identifying training needs. Fully deputize for the Customer Service Manager in their absence. Provide progress reports to the University senior management team. Aim to consistently exceed expectations.
Our Perfect Worker
The successful candidate must possess the following formal qualifications (or achieve them via provider-funded training outside of contracted hours):
- Core Training Qualification: Formally qualified as a 'Train-the-Trainer' holding a PTLLS or an
equivalent accredited qualification (Minimum).
- Physical Intervention: Formally qualified and accredited as an instructor at Level 3 through the NFPS (or agreed alternative) for Control & Restraint and Breakaway techniques.
- Lift Entrapment: Formally trained and accredited as an instructor in the safe release of persons in lift-entrapment scenarios (will train all on-duty Protection staff).
- Evacuation Equipment: Formally qualified and accredited to deliver training for the use of evac chairs, evac mats, and evac sheets (will certificate and train all on-duty staff alongside four other qualified trainers).
- First Aid: Certified Mental Health First Aider (minimum 2-day course)
