Great opportunity to work as an Emergency Preparedness Training Officer on our prestigious contract at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.

Location: Bridgwater
Hours: 40 hours per week - office hours, potential for hybrid working
Pay rate: £25.08 per hour (£52,309.76 per annum, hourly paid)

The primary purpose of this role is to provide expert advice and guidance on Emergency Planning and Preparedness matters, ensuring that appropriate standards are established, maintained, and consistently applied across the project.

The post holder will support and promote the development of a positive Emergency Preparedness culture across a diverse range of contractors and stakeholders. They will contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Emergency Preparedness systems, procedures, and policies. Responsibilities will include conducting inspections, monitoring compliance, preparing reports on Emergency Planning matters, and presenting findings and recommendations to relevant personnel.

The role holder will champion high standards of Emergency Preparedness, Health and Safety, and operational resilience. They will provide support at a local and platform level, actively contributing to and promoting communities of best practice to drive continual improvement across site.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creation, review and management of Emergency documentation, maps, and plans
- Conduct contract or LC11 inspections
- Management and collation of monthly data and statistics.
- Maintenance and update of training records.
- Support management, planning, documenting, and execution of Emergency Exercises.
- Maintain and manage Emergency Facilities, Equipment and Resources.
- Liaison with contractor Emergency Preparedness personnel/teams.

Key Skills & Competencies:
- Effective communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with contractors and responders.
- Excellent ICT skills including a high level of understanding of Microsoft applications e.g. Word, Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with a methodical approach to planning and management.
- Ability to be self-motivating and manage own work load and priorities to meet the team's goals and targets.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications
- A good standard of education in Maths, English and IT
- 2 years experience within the Emergency Services, Armed Forces, or Emergency Preparedness environments is desirable
- Tactical Management Training, JESIP (Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles) training, or other Emergency Preparedness and Resilience-related courses are desirable

Specific Occupational Requirements:
- Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting
- UK Driving License is essential
- Produce a five-year verifiable work history

Preferred Experience:
- Experience of working with ICT systems including Microsoft applications.
- Experience of creating and reviewing documents.
- Experience in conducting and documenting Risk Assessments.
- Experience of organising and managing small projects/initiatives.
- Experience of emergency arrangements, plans, policies and procedures desirable but not
essential.
- Experience of Construction Health & Safety.
