A fantastic opportunity has arisen within G4S for a Security Control Room Officer (Day Officer), who will work at a prestigious financial institution in London, where you will be required to carry out duties in a busy environment and carve out a career with the biggest name in security.

You must be able to demonstrate and deliver high-quality guarding and excellent customer service to both our clients and service users.

Position: Security Control Room Officer (DayOfficer)
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Pay Rate: £19.24
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (Days Only) between 07:00 - 19:00 Early shift (0700 -1500) or Late shift (1100 - 1900) to cover depending on operational needs.

Your Time at Work

What You Will Do

In this critical and rewarding role, you will be the first line of remote support for branches and offices, combining excellent customer service with active incident coordination:

- Provide Telephone Support & Guidance: Serve as the direct phone contact for the retail branch and office network during security alarms, panic activations or criminal incidents giving calm, clear instructions to staff on site
- Manage & Monitor Security Alarms: Actively monitor intruder, premises and personal attack/panic alarm systems throughout the network, triaging events in real-time
- Coordinate Incident Responses: Take immediate action during security incidents, including liaising directly with Police forces, fraud departments and other emergency services to dispatch assistance
- Operate Advanced Physical & Electronic Security Systems: Manage on-site electronic security procedures, including handling remote CCTV requests from external stakeholders such as the Police
- Achieve High Customer Satisfaction: Maintain a supportive, polite, helpful and diligent demeanor, ensuring branch and office staff feel supported and protected
- Support Global Security Strategy: Assist in the day-to-day operations and new security initiatives supporting the broader corporate protective security strategy

Who We Are Looking For (Role Requirements)

We are seeking individuals with outstanding communication skills who thrive under pressure and enjoy solving problems.

Essential Experience & Skills:

- Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to convey instructions clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels, particularly under stressful circumstances
- Call Centre / Phone-Based Experience: Proven experience in a phone-based role, such as customer service, call centre, technical helpdesk, emergency services dispatch, or command/control environment
- Calm & Diligent Under Pressure: A logical approach to problem-solving, with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment
- IT Literacy: Proficient in the use of standard software applications (including Microsoft Office) and comfortable learning complex monitoring systems
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing team and operate independently with minimal supervision
- Probationary & Screening Clearances: Commitment to successfully completing a 6-month probationary period and required corporate vetting procedures
Desirable (But NOT Essential) Experience:
- Prior experience working with security systems (CCTV, intruder alarms, control room applications)
- Knowledge of corporate head office or retail branch operational working practices
