Great opportunity to work as a Reach Truck Driver/Warehouse Operative for our client, which operates a busy distribution centre supplying stores and customers across the region. The site is responsible for the storage, handling and distribution of a wide range of white goods and furniture.
Staffline is recruiting Reach Truck Drivers/Warehouse Operatives in Darlington.
The rate of pay is:
- Day shift £14.39 per hour
- Night shift £16.53 per hour
Overtime is available and is paid at:
- Day shift £21.58 per hour
- Night shift £24.80 per hour
This is a full-time role working rotating shifts, 5 out of 7, and the hours of work are:
- 6am to 2pm
- 2pm to 10pm
- 10pm to 6am
Applicants must hold a valid reach truck license (MUST be able to provide certificate, expired certificates are accepted)
Your Time at Work
As a Reach Truck Driver/Warehouse Operative you will be responsible for:
- Operating a reach truck safely and efficiently to complete put-away activities
- Moving and storing stock in designated warehouse locations
- Using a handheld scanner
- Loading and unloading stock safely where required
- Wrapping and securing stillages ready for storage or movement
- Carrying out general warehouse duties to support the team where required
- Following all site health and safety, operational and housekeeping procedures

What we're looking for:
- Ability to remain on your feet and active for the majority of the shift
- Ability to safely operate a reach truck and repeatedly get on/ off the vehicle
- Manual handling of stock and warehouse equipment as required
- Ability to wrap and secure stillages, including reaching, stretching and bending
- Ability to push, pull and manoeuvre warehouse equipment safely
- Must be able to met the required visual standards for the role, with or without the use of prescription glasses or contact lenses
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures
- Good teamwork and communication skills
