Great opportunity to work as an Abattoir Key Operative for one of the UK's leading supermarket meat production sites.
The client are a meat factory/abattoir and are producing fresh meat, starting from the animal carcass until the finished product. This includes beef and pork products.
The rate of pay is £13.01 per hour
This is a full time role, working Monday to Friday. The hours of work are:
- 05:30 am until work is completed
Your Time at Work
As an Abattoir Operative, you will join either the butchery or abattoir team in Pork or Beef Departments and your tasks will mainly involve:
- Working on paceline or slaughter line with the use of knives and other equipment.
- Performing skilled tasks which include cutting, deboning meat/slaughter, and dressing carcasses to the required specification.
- Undertaking manual handling tasks, using equipment or machinery when required.
- Ensuring the quality of the product is to the required specification and that Health & Safety and Food Safety standards are followed at all times.

Applicants will be physically fit to be able to perform all the tasks as the job requires standing, cutting and lifting.
We also welcome applications from candidates who have knife handling experience in other roles (not necessarily a butchery environment) who wish to start a career in the Meat Processing Industry.
Basic English skills are required.
Applicants must be willing to learn and under go training.
Experience in similar role is desirable, but not essential.
