Security Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join the G4S team, working for a well known-site in Manchester.

Contract Information:

Annual Salary: 29,000-42,000
Hours: Average 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 12 hour shifts - Days nights & weekends

Please note - you must be a British National and have been a resident in the United Kingdom for a minimum of 5 years and apply with a full CV for consideration for this role.

This vacancy also be subject to Enhanced Developed Vetting, which may take up to 12 months, however there is the potential to start the role whilst this is going through.

Your Time at Work

As a Security Officer at G4S, you will be entrusted with responsibilities beyond those of a conventional Security Guard. Your role will encompass ensuring the safety and security of our customers, staff, their premises, and assets, while consistently delivering exceptional customer service. It's a varied role that includes;

- Providing a visible security presence across this government site
- Greeting staff, visitors and contractors professionally
- Managing access and egress control procedures
- Conducting regular internal and external patrols
- Monitoring CCTV systems and responding appropriately to incidents
- Supporting the safety and security of people, property and assets
- Responding to security concerns, incidents and emergencies
- Completing incident reports accurately using digital systems
- Supporting first aid and emergency procedures when required
- Building positive relationships with government staff, visitors and site teams
- Following site security procedures and compliance requirements at all times
- Delivering a professional customer-focused service throughout every shift

You'll Need To:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) Licence
- Hold a valid SIA CCTV Licence
- Have at least 2 years' experience in a corporate security environment
- Have experience within roles involving access control, patrols and customer-facing security duties
- Have lived continuously in the UK for the last 5 years to meet SC Clearance requirements
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in a professional corporate security environment is essential for this role.

A valid SIA badge is a prerequisite. While a CCTV operator's licence is desirable, it is not mandatory, as training can be provided.
