Job Title: Days Mechanical Workshop Fitter

Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Reading area

Client: Global, instantly recognisable PLC Manufacturer

Reward: £38k plus Overtime, Monday to Friday days working pattern of 40 hours on a permanent basis.

  • You will assemble, refurbish, and improve factory process machinery to support the maintenance team, working in the workshop
  • This involves fitting hydraulic pumps, refurbishing racking, conveyors, and the mechanical assembly of the machines
  • There are opportunities for progression to a permanent role and into the maintenance team also
  • The Successful candidates must comply and adhere to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace

Key Responsibilities – Days Mechanical Workshop Fitter

  • Detailed fitting of mechanical parts and components
  • Testing various assemblies
  • Manual and digital inspection
  • Bench fitting and assembly
  • Work from engineering drawings
  • Dismantling and refurbishing engineering machinery and components
  • Maintaining consistent high levels of housekeeping, keeping the work area clear and safe of any hazards

Qualifications & Requirements – Days Mechanical Workshop Fitter

  • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic machines
  • Experience with power tools
  • Welding experience preferred
  • Experience with pneumatics and electrics is a bonus
  • Ability to read engineering drawings preferred
  • Health and Safety knowledge and mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Qualified Mechanical Level 3 engineer preferred, Level 2 also considered
  • Organisational, planning, prioritisation of work
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Excellent team working and communication skills
