Yard Shunter

Great opportunity to work as a Yard Shunter for our client - A Multi Award Winning supply chain specialist working with retailers.

Staffline is recruiting Yard Shunters to work in Aylesford.

The rate of pay is £16.53 to £25.42 per hour

This is a full-time role working 4 on 4 off. The hours of work are:
- 6pm to 6am

Your Time at Work
As a Yard Shunter, your duties include:
- Place trailers in the required areas as per instruction
- Undertake effective yard management ensuring all Site Rules are adhered to
- Support the continuity of Warehouse operations and processes
- Maintain contact with areas of the operation as necessary
- Ensure all safety checks are carried out as designated by the Company.
- Ensure that defects, accident damage and any incidents are reported as soon as they are found.
- Ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.
- Ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times.
- Report any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors to the office.
- Keep vehicle parking area layouts as they should be and report any issues of debris to the office
- Ensure that Company standards of hygiene and housekeeping, are maintained at all times
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation

Our Perfect Worker
- Physically fit to work in Warehouse environment and 12 hour shift pattern
- Full C+E entitlement with an in-date CPC and Tacho Card.
- Working with and driving LGV's
- Previous shunting experience
- Manual Handling procedures
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
- Fridge knowledge
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised and time-critical environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
