Skilled Hygiene Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Skilled Hygiene Operative for our client which produces a range of high quality chilled Ready Meals supplying major retailers.

Staffline is recruiting Skilled Hygiene Operatives in Melton Mowbray.

The rate of pay is:
- AM/PM £12.35 per hour
- Sundays £12.97 per hour
- Overtime after working 37.5 hours is paid at £15.44 per hour


This is a part time role working Friday to Sunday and the hours of work are:
- 2pm to 10pm

Your Time Work:
As a Skilled Hygiene Operative your duties include:

- Stripping and cleaning factory machinery using cleaning chemicals to correct concentrations adhering to routine deep clean schedules.
- Keeping the working environments maintained to very high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
- Keeping the internal and external areas of the factory clean and tidy.

Our Perfect Worker:
Our perfect worker will have the following skills:
- Food safety awareness and Health and safety awareness – understanding PPE use, slip/trip hazards, chemical safety, (microbiological hazards, personal hygiene standards, pest control basics).
- Attention to detail – ensuring all equipment and environments meet audit-ready standards.
- Time management – ability to complete cleaning tasks within strict production schedules.
- Teamwork – working effectively with other operatives and production staff.
- Reliability and Flexibility – consistently meeting hygiene schedules and safety standards, able to handle demanding cleaning tasks, often in cold or wet environments and – willingness to work night shifts, weekends, or variable hours.
- Problem-solving ability – identifying contamination risks and taking corrective action.

Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.
